Week 12 Reading Notes: Nine Ideal Indian Women Part A

Rama and Sita wedding (Source: Flickr)

I have written a lot about Sita at the beginning of the semester. So, here is some fresh reading note about her story.

Sita is the wife of the god Rama, who abandoned her, as told in the Ramayana. She is described as the adopted daughter of King Janaka of Videha and his wife, Queen Sunayana. Sita is known for her dedication, selflessness, courage, and purity.

Rama was Sita’s soulmate, and both were perfect for each other. After her wedding, a lot of ups and downs happened. The first one was when Rama, Sita, Lakshmana went into exile in a forest. As we can read, Sita is very loyal to Rama and would do anything for him. Even after her abduction by Ravana, Sita remained loyal and loving towards Rama. The same feelings remained after Rama abandoned Sita in a forest and “banished” her from the kingdom.

I do not think that I will write something about Sita this week because I have already written two stories, but something that could be great is to write her as the hero, the protagonist, that is to say, Rama’s place.  Or, something really crazy such as Sita fall in love with Ravana?? But this is the Stockholm syndrome, and it reminds me of Wattpad fiction.
